Guys I have a weird one for you. I am sure one of the resident gurus might be able to assist me.
Here's the deal;
2001 4003
When the bass pickup is selected both pickups play. Middle position both pickups play. Treble position no pickups play. Amp is connected via the standard jack.
If I use the Rick-o-Sound jack I get nothing.
Any ideas?

sounds like it's been rewired and someone soldered both pickup lead wires on the same lug/terminal of the 3 way switch. This should be an easy fix since both pickups work, trace down where the + wire from each pickup is soldered and match them up to the 4001 schematic supplied by the Rickenbacker Comp. web site.

Joey's schematic is a picture of parts and wiring, making it easier to follow if you aren't easy with a regular schematic.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was a bit perplexed as I was trying to diagnose this issue over the phone which can be quite difficult.
It turned out that the treble pickup was not connected. This would explain why nothing was produced when using the Rick-o-sound connector.
The fact that I was advised both pickups were running in the centre and bass position threw me off a bit. It seems only the bass pickup was actually working.
Thanks a lot for everyone's assistance.
