The bass sold for $330 eventually - I've never seen one of those before, presumably only the guitar version made it to Britain. Shame - I want one!

So anyway, Paul M - value is probably around what that bass went for, in UK quids about £150-£180, maybe. Not a fortune, but not too shabby considering these cost £108 new back in '83.

I've done a bit of research about the brands, too - Austin was a brand owned by Targ & Dinner, a distributor from Chicago. It would seem likely that they also owned the Targa brand, which appears on the same range of guitars.

Paul W - A book? I'd love to, if I could find the time - but there are probably only about 7 people in the world who'd read it! I do plan to do do a website, though.

my workmate got a bargain then, he paid £25.00 at a car boot sale.it has the bag also.
