Yes, Mark, Pauls' original taped Rick was indeed a 366-12; somewhere, I have pics of the Airplane live from around '68, and the guitar in the pic I'm thinking of I'm quite sure Still had the converter on it. By Woodstock and Altamont in '69 was when the black electrical tape was applied.I got to see that guitar up close backstage at a Starship concert in '75; until then, I had no idea the striping was tape.I also saw up close his 1st Rick 12, a Fireglo 360-12 roundtop, with Japanese flag motif on the pickguard. This was from the Monterey era, and in Very good shape at that.He had a total of 5 Rick 12s with him on that tour, including one "Alembicised" one...

Thanks Don. I'd have to double check but I don't think I have any pix of the 366 with the comb still on. If you do, I'd love to see it.
Yeah, Don, Paul has about five RIC 12s with him on stage while on tour. And guitar tech Michael tunes them between songs.
(At a show recently Kantner chided lead guitarist Slick for taking a little while to tune. And Slick blasted back "At least I tune my own guitars!")
Here, by the way, is another 360/12 of his:
