360 + 381 + Lysergic acid diethylamide = This?

Post by leftyguitars »

Just saw one of these in a major UK chain, it had a bit of everything in it! It certainly looked different (or not - depending on your opinion). They claim that it is the easiest 12 string to play, and that it delivers that 'classic British band sound' with its 'sparkling' pickups. It even has a Rickenbacker(ish) shaped logo! They do double necks and basses too!

Somehow I don't think that I will be buying one.

It looks a bit like everything.

Weird.... It looks oddly familiar, in a different way. Not hard to see what inspired the design, LOL!

The rest of their lines are Strat KOs, Jazzmaster KOs, Gibson KOs, and a Gretsch KO tossed in for good measure.

Whatever happened to really imaginative Eyetalian stuff like:

Hmm, I was just looking at a photo of one of those guitar with amp thingies the other day in a book I have.

It's a Wandre Bikini. Guitar with built-in amp/speaker. If Eastwood ever comes out with one, I'm on the list.

Mebbe I should build one...

It was sold under the Krundaal name. Made by Wandre Pioli of Cavriago, Italy in the early '60s.

Wandre was one odd duck, but really right-brained when it came to geetars. He also did some unique engineering, such as his pivoting aluminum neck with one thumbscrew to adjust the action.

His finishes often used candle soot buried under clearcoat for a really strange effect.

Me, too...check out this website:

http://www.fetishguitars.com

and scroll to the Italian pages. You'll see what the guitars that started this thread could have been instead of bad pastiches of cliche styling cues.
