Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2, or Beethoven's Sonata #14.

Los Straitjackets. "State Fair" never fails to put a smile on my face.

I love the Straitjackets Matt.

However, the winner for me is the greatest Australian band ever...

The Albinoni Adagio in G Minor. It's so depressing that I realize my own sadness is merely a drop in the bucket.

Ya, and y'all probably watch PBS!

In case that is not clear, there are many more who profess to watch, than actually do. Methinks it is that way with these tunes with the long foreign names!

Music doesn't cheer me up. I do.

I mean, it's true...I don't remember music taking away my bad mood, unless I'm actually playing it. Then the physical act works its magic. But listening to "Good Day Sunshine" when I'm feeling blue just doesn't change much for me.

Wow, what a crab.

Hey, Charly, PBS is good for you. You should eat more vegetables, too.

Sixpence None the Richer's "Divine Discontent" CD.... Some of the tunes are wonderfully jangly with Rickish tones, and happy.... And some are sweet and melancholy, and help to disperse my own sadness.... And Leigh Nash's breathy, wispy vocals are perfect for the songs. I especially love "Down and Out of Time" when I'm in the doghouse....

John's "Palestrina" comment reminded me of one of my fave guitar pieces, "Cavettina", by Stanley Myers.

It was featured in "The Deer Hunter" (that OTHER Cimino movie) as "Love Theme".

If I could ever play it I'd be permanently happy.

Or not, I don't know...I'm just ssssoooooo depressed today; my parrot flew the shoulder.

Intelligent TV without adverts, now there's a concept...

Not going to get many Fox viewers there though!

I'm with Paul...I'll listen to Coldplay and realize how miserable I could be...

Depends, The Beatles usually do it. Many old obscure 60's tunes also cheer me up. I'm Telling you Now, Tobacco Road, also early pre-Beatles stuff, A thousand stars in The Sky, stuff like that, it reminds me of listening to the radio when I was 12, 13 when I really didn't have any problems.
