My bass fell off of my guitar stand at church (while I was walking back stage so I didn't see it). Fortunately, all I got was nick in the head stock. It was built tough and I got lucky it didn't wind up like that 360.

OMG! I was literally slack jawed when I saw that photo. OUCH! At least it was a clean break. What was involved in the cure?
My 381/12 fell out of its stand once, about 15 years ago, but the worst it suffered was one bent tuning peg, which I managed to repair.

Mine stay in the case. A RIC case type stand is also safe, but still, I'd only use something like that while playing a gig, not for letting the guitar stand around.
