...compared with a Rickenbacker, every other acoustic IS bog standard, in my humble opinion Image

I think the headstock's alright, but it doesn't look Rickenbacker-ish.

OK, here's a pic from 82-83(not sure).
me w/4005 on left, my pal with his brand spanking new Rick on the right. He said when he ordered it, he called the factory and they seached parts bins and put on a piece(s) to make it more like a '60's Rick. I don't know if he was talking about toasters or what.. But he did say the factory found him NOS bit(s). Not caring at the time, I was mildy impressed. Therefore, I don't remember now what was so special.

It was JG
Poor pic quality, but is anything noticable? I don't think he had CB binding, but that could be. I'm trying to contact him to see if he remembers.

I was flabbergasted a few years later when he sold it for chump change 'cause he needed rent.

Wow - Old, faded photograph, black and white...

Was this 1882, Jerry? You didn't look that old at SoCal.

Dag nab it!
Those were Jeremiah Rickenbacker guitars picked up at the trading post for beaver skins and jerky!

It's a cool pic. Jerry, you look the same, even down to the haircut! Both of those Ricks are super cool!
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

Jerry, maybe it was a vintage TRC?

Although, clearly there's no telling if it was from the picture.

Or maybe he was winding you up?

Still awaiting his reply, though my aol service down now.

I know at the time he was really jazzed about being able to order it with a "difference" and Rick's factory assistance.
