Are 21-fretters THAT different?

Post by heinpete »

Looking at the tailpiece position of Jaclyn
and Susanna
Image

it seems obvious that one of the sisters must be completely out of tune!? How come Sérgio or Elys have not yet been killed by any of their band members? What is the secret of the two sisters being in tune with same fretboard length but different tailpiece position? Do they have a different body (they both look sexy to me)? Image

The tailpiece and headstock/fretboard are shoved along about half an inch, the neck/body 'join' position stays where it is which, in effect, makes the neck longer hence one extra fret but the same scale length. Here is my lefty one...

Look at the pic form Sérgio's Jaclyn in the threat "Meet with Sérgio" in the section "winding up the best", that distance to the end of the body is amazingly far!

I didn't see that thread before. Sort of explains it all. I'll keep quiet. Image.

Anyways, she sings perfectly in tune and VERY LOUD. Meaning she's badass.Image AND, there's a further, little secret to her singing distinctively Rickenbacker even at low volume settings. Anyone care to try and guess what that is? The winner - here we go again - gets one of my hot treble pickups - as soon as I get my hands on some #*«@§+"g bar magnets therefor, that is!

But her tailpiece is more distant from the butt that that of Susanna! Sérgio says Jaclyn is in tune.

Elys, how about your lady? As far as I know there was no mistune, however as she was yours, I did not dare to look at her butt. Image

Seems like Jaclyn and Susanna have the bridges of the individual strings nearly in the same position!

Susanna's saddles look more forward than Jaclyn's, which goes with their mounting positions. ( Sorry lady's! I know it's not nice to talk about your "positions" in public) Image
Anyone remember this one?

From what I see Susanna's saddles can't cover the distance of the different tailpiece mounting position in comparison to that of Jaclyn.

What is the further secret Sergio? Is it that the treble pickup is closer to the bridge?

I think Jaclyn has some 'Sergio Specials' in her!

Am I right, Sergio?

Comparing the three dressed sisters in this thread(another one is naked w/o pick guard)
it seems that rather Susanna is that extravagant girl:
She has a larger distance from the pick guard to the surround of the treble PU, hence her tailpiece was moved to the butt! Her switch location is the same as Jaclyn's.

Peter's lefty lady has a different switch location(?) otherwise looks normal.
