Facebook, Is it complicated or is it just me?

Post by leftyguitars »

I can just about cope with Myspace but I just don't understand Facebook at all. Who does Facebook? I'm trying to get a Rickenbacker/me Facebook thing going but I haven't a clue what I am doing. Is it just me?

It's for people who have the time to waste on such frivolous pursuits. Imagine...

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

I dunno Peter, I've had mine for over two years but I don't find it complex. Want me to start the Rickenbacker group and you can just join? Image

There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Looks to be just like MySpace, no? I just found my son has a profile there, but not being a member I couldn't view it.

I would decribe it as being less, er, skanky than Myspace. Facebook is actually a lot more useful to me as a student, since you can easily track down people in your classes. Until recently it was also free of a lot of the Myspace clutter, but now they've added the capability for lots of neat "applications", and it's becoming just as cluttered.

My 49 year old brain finds it very user unfriendly. That's what I get for linking over to it from AARP....

Facebook's not bad. and like John said, much easier to get a hold of classmates than normal. it's not too bad once you get through the initial nonsense.
