Wow!! Does that clip bring back some memories or what?? Lead singer Jim Keays is still going strong.

BTW.... if anybody is wondering, "GTK" stands for "Getting To Know" or "Get To Know" - there seems to be some argument about which title is correct. It was a 10 minute show on our ABC (government TV channel) that commenced in 1969. It was on every night at 6.30pm and featured all the top bands of the day. It also featured interviews with such notables as Mick Jagger, Marc Bolan an Pete Townshend. I wouldn't miss it! Image

Besides his talents as a uh 'chemist,' Owsley was also one of the Dead's soundmen.

And who can forget Grace Slick's immortal lyrics:

Owsley and Charlie, twins of the trade,
Come to the Poet's Room
Talking about the problems of the leaf,
And yes, it'll be back soon

But thanks Uncle Charlie
For your Mexican smoke
You're a legend Owsley
For your righteous dope

I do not know who "Charlie" is referring to.

Owsley's grandfather, by the way, was a governor of Kentucky and a U.S. senator.
