I was hoping no one would post this.

The buyer is a good forum member who deserves a bit of good luck, and hopefully can close the deal.

Jeff,

I am just looking over the old mail from a 79 bass that was in the UK scam recently. It was a MG and possibly had an SB serial number too...

I'll get back to you...

Jeff,

It is the same bass serial # SG 3860.

It's a scam.

Head down to the "SCAMS" thread.

Aw, too bad Jeff. And here I thought the market had finally figured out that they were Rick's "other bass" for a reason.

Biscuit-Head - YEAH!! That's what I'm talkin' about! That's what I was looking for. No more of this being polite stuff. Every now and then its fun to be a jerk! You just got me to fall off my chair laughing!

High five! (smack)

Yeah, looks like I might have just hit the BIN on a bass that the seller sort of...ummmm...doesn't really own!

Thanks for cluing me in to the scam, Andy. Forum membership has its privileges!

The scam was in Scotland...this one is listed in Rockport, TX, which isn't too far from me.

Has anyone decided if this is a scan or the real deal? Or is that a stupid question ... 'cause that is one cheap "unheard of" price ... I hope the guy did not get taken ...

I Love this forum. Just search for the serial number and you know its scam. Now on a ebay daughter in Holland (click). (/me still hopes for a real bargain 4005 someday. ;-))

Just curious Jeff, if it was a scam, why did you leave the guy feedback?
