Big pictures!

Post by bassduke49 »

In celebration of being able to post larger photos, I want to try this portrait of my 10 Rick basses again. Now I got to make sure this works . . .

Let's see your big Rick photos!

Clearly, I'm missing something. I made the file 800x600, and got it under 256k, but uploading always makes it tiny like that. What am I doing wrong? I guess you can click on the picture and view it large that way, but I thought it would appear big in the message. Can anyone guide me here?

In order to make sure pictures are not occupying the entire screen - all images will have thumbnails created for them automatically.
You can still click on the image to see it in full size.

I didn't try it, but I think that when you upload an image as an attachment - you can upload larger images, feel free to try it.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Instead of uploading it to the bulletin board, upload it instead to a web site. Then, when composing the message, click the button "img", and then type out the full URL to the photos. If you have a web site named http://www.bassduke.com for example, and if you name the photo "tenricks.jpg", you would type "http://www.bassduke.com/tenricks.jpg" after clicking the "img" button.

That's all! As long as the image is equal to or less than 800x600 pixels, and the size is less than 256k, it will display perfectly. In fact, clicking preview causes the bulletin board to go out and test to see if the link can be contacted. If it can't contact the web site, or if you misspelled something, it will tell you.

With your permission, Paul, here is an example. After you link your photo yourself, of course, I will delete mine (since it is your photo, after all). This is only an example:

Hmm, is that something "minkish" in the upper right corner? 8)

Hey, I just tired it, and it works great! Just double click on the picture (attachment) and you get the full size. This too is going to save time from hopping to other sites.

Keep on with the new features!
