I live about 20 miles from Putnum CT. I got to see Link Wray once about 5 years ago. He was playing at Clark University in Worcester, MA, I got there early, was supposed to meet the other guys who I played with at the time, they were late so I walked out two times trying to find them and the last time trying to get back in they nailed me and wouldn't let me get back in, you needed to have a student ID. I did get to see them warm up though and they played Rumble as one of the warm ups. He still rocked and they were loud, they had a Marshall amp and an SVT in a little room, sounded great.

The bass player had one, Link was using a Strat I'm pretty sure. He had hair down to his butt. My buddies got a Strat autographed by him after the show with a magic marker which of course rubbed off.

Wow!I saw Link with Robert Gordon around 1977 at Toads Place.Robert sang,"My Gal Is Red Hot", "Flying Saucer Rock And Roll" and ""Black Slacks".Great show.

What a great clip! Dead crowd huh? I remember Robert Gordon playing with Link Wray, and especially My Gal is Red Hot. That was a great time for radio, they could play just about any kind of rock n roll and get away with it. Do you remember WBCN 104.1 in Boston Mitch? It was the 2nd or 3rd US progressive rock station, I think you guys had WHCN in Hartford which was similar.
