Rick tailpiece, and delegation...

Post by tennis_nick »

I was thinking about the auto world when this came to mind...

Sometimes automakers will grudgingly cooperate to boost their own sales, for example, the recent hybrid ford escapes... well, Ford just bought the first generation Prius rights. The engine in those Saturn SUV's are actually Honda V-tech engines... stuff like that, each company gets what they want essentially.

What If Rick would do a thing like that? I don't mean like having other companies build every part of the bass and just ship it off to Santa-Ana for completion, clearly that would be over the top and you wouldn't be getting that workmanship and quality we've all grown to expect and love.

I'm talking smaller scale, what if Rick commissioned Hipshot to built them x amount of Tail pieces to be put on their basses? from what I understand the hipshots are an improvement, that doesn't take away from the sound, Rick gets even more glowing revues, Hipshot gets glow ReVEnues (play on word there see, was nice...) and hopefully the buyers will be happy not to have to worry at all about their tailpieces lifting!

Just figured it'd be a good topic for discussion so... Discuss!

I didn't post this to stirr up any hard feelings or flaming or anything, I just thought we could have a frank discussion, or for that matter.. a Stephanie discussion.

A topic isn't what makes these threads go to south, it's people who take offense when no offense was given!

What else are we gonna talk about? After a while, threads like "My Rick is cool, have a look at it" get kinda tiring and repetitive don't you think?

The most enlightened answer come from the simplest questions, so... if we can ALL be mature about it and discuss it like adults, the thread will stay, it will offer insight to anyone who reads it, and the internet will win a maturity point, the one it lost when youtube comments started to happen.
