72 MG 4001 LH What's a fair price?

Post by Tylendal »

I found this one at a shop here in tokyo, they want $2,655. I'm going to see it later this afternoon. From the pics it looks to be in ace condition. Hopefully they'll come down on the price, but I doubt it.

well, I only paid $1,500 after shipping and all that for my 80 AG 4001 LH, but the checkered binding on this one has me drawn. I would rather have it in AG, but you don't see these in Lefty very often.

Anything with CB goes for big dollars. That was a great price and why it was gone.

I'm actually kind of upset with the shop, I found their site online, and it still has it listed as for sale. But then the site was down for updating most of the day, and I called them to see if it was still there, and they told me it wasn't, and yet now the site is back up and it is still listed as for sale. I think I'm going to go tomorrow before work and make sure he wasn't just blowing me off.

The price was a steal. She doesn't have the original bridge pickup, surround, or tug-bar but those could be found later if one cared enough.

Jeff, what makes you think the surround isn't correct on the bass....? Just curious.

FWIW it looks like the one on my own '72 which is original....
