As a matter of fact I did, Shane. The merchandise caravan near Kardinia Park had a queue 30 metres long!

We stopped down at the Geelong forshore for a coffee on the way back and even the old salts at the Geelong Yacht Club were wearing Cats beanies and jumpers!

Hope it was a good weekend Howard !!!

By the look of the reports on the TV, I'd say the whole town was over the legal limit all week !!!!!

Tom: Thanks :)

Here I am venturing into the great unknown. This is my first post under the new format. I like it.

Gil I see that you are a fan of a certain very brilliant author Mr. Douglas Adams who in fact wrote a book called So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish. Its title is the message left by the dolphins when they departed Planet Earth just before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspatial express route.

Very humorous.

Thanks for getting me to the "other side" in one piece. It's going to take some effort on my part to get used to the new format but I believe that it will be worth it.
I have the entire 5 books "trilogy" :)
I owe my love for this book to my girlfriend who convinced me to read it when we first started dating 7 years ago...
My motto is "share and enjoy, share and enjoy - go stick your head in a pig".
I have another DA surprise for you, related to Rickresource. I will upload it tomorrow.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

42 LOL I had forgotten about that. Thanks Gil. My DA book set deserves a re-read. For those who may be confused by all this banter here's a link to some light reading.

I've been a sceptic, I confess. Never a strong believer in 42, because of some experiences that seem to contradict its veracity (not to mention efficacy, but that's not a topic for these pages), I've been forced to settle for somewhere between 37 and 38. Exactly where, I am working hard to discover.

Even though Douglas Adams before his death rejected the base 13 forumula 6 × 9 = 42 (some believe he may have been trying to throw us off the scent) it intuitively seems logical.

He's the only author that I am aware of who would dare write a trilogy of five books and also make that seem logical.

Again from Wilkepedia:

In the end of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams, a possible question to get the answer "forty-two" is presented: "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" Of course, the answer is deliberately wrong, creating a humorous effect – if the calculation is carried out in base 10. People who were trying to find a deeper meaning in the passage soon noticed that in base 13, 6 base 13 × 9 base 13 is actually 42 base 13 (as 4 × 13 + 2 = 54). When confronted with this, the author stated that it was a mere coincidence, and that "Nobody writes jokes in base 13 [...] I may be a pretty sad person, but I don't make jokes in base 13." See also The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. Also 4213 is read as "four two base thirteen" as the four is not in a "tens" column.

It's all food for the brain.
