From our local paper:-
John Lennon's widow Yoko is due to unveil an Icelandic monument to his memory.
She will light the Imagine Peace Tower on Videy island near the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik on what would have been Lennon's 67th birthday.

Ono was due to be joined for the ceremony by the couple's son, Sean Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison's widow Olivia.

Paul McCartney also was invited, but it was not known if he will attend.

The tower is a beam of light, radiating from a wishing well bearing the words "imagine peace" in 24 languages.

Mark: With regard to your question, why Iceland Ono apparently chose this country because it was the furthest north and as it has a reputation of being environmentally friendly.
