USA, in Texas, which seems to have nearly half of all the Rickenbacker owners in this country according to the Forum posts. I really expected California to take first place in the nation, but they must spend most of their time star gazing or something, or maybe they are just running from fires at the present time or trying to avoid the Governator.

I never met a big movie star or music performer like a lot of you here. The only famous person I ever got to meet was Gen. James Doolittle when I was assigned to photograph his visit to my ship when I was in the Navy, at about the same time that The Village People had their "In The Navy" hit song. The song still stinks, but Gen. Doolittle was a cool guy. He got the royal treatment and had lunch in the Officer's Mess.

Hi I'm in Glasgow Scotland, I work for local council refuse department and was given a Rickenbacker 4001 1978 at the weekend that was found in the bins believe it or not.Whoever threw that out must be stupid....really stupid!!!

Hey Chris, nice to find you here. I've started the rebuild on the white '77 I bought from you the other day. I plan to post pics along the way. The paint's stripped off and all the hardware is cleaned up. I found the body to be in excellent shape, but the truss rods need a little work, no sweat. When done, it will be mint green with black hardware. I'll keep you posted. How's the Shadow?

Richard you were given a Ric that hed been found in the trash bins?? Unbelievable, that must have been a wild night, wait until he (or she) sobers up. Maybe it was a P.O. girlfriend. I had one try to throw an SVT head out of the window once when I was a kid, I'm lucky she couldn't pick it up, haha! Instead she rammed my P bass through one of the speakers. I had to buy a new key and a new speaker.

haha, ive found guitars in the trash before...... £20 nylon string ones broken in half....BUT A RICKY BASS???? did it work.?

Jean, I also moved from the north to the south, but I sometimes call my present location "Hell on the Red".

I was in France in 2000, and I really enjoyed my stay. When I brought the Mercedes back to the rental agency in Paris, it was 2000 km beyond its regular scheduled maintenance. They probably regret giving me unlimited mileage, and I made sure they lost their shirts in the deal, having circumnavigated the greater part of France in one week. They DID charge me for 4 charges of air freshener in the final bill, though. I guess they found that cheese that came up missing when we were looking for it during our final night in that Paris hotel by the Gare du Nord.

France is the only foreign country I have ever visited where I felt like I was returning home. The French people were usually very nice to me everywhere I went throughout the countryside of France. I shall return.
