Say how we go with this BOTV

For guitar lovers of which there may be 1 or 2 on here.

I am biased because version 2 was one of the first singles I bought nearly 46 years ago, still love it today. Other versions good though so may be difficult to choose, should you wish to participate.

My selection as follows,
1, vers. 3.
2, vers. 2.
3, vers. 4.
4, vers. 1.
Interesting selection, unfortunately like me vers. 1 has not travelled the decades too well!!

Well three of them were really good and 2 and 3 were very close. I played 2,3, and 4 each two or three times, here is my final selection:

Interesting that everyone so far has put version 1 last - the first time I listened to them all it was my favourite ! My problem is that twangy guitar instrumentals are probably my favourite kind of music, and this is a GREAT tune, so I like them all. At the risk of being boring , my comments on each as follows:
Version 1 : Pro – the "ba-ba-ba-DUM" drum breaks
Con - the "wacka-wacka" disco rhythm guitar
Version 2 : Pro – the bass
Con – thin guitar sound
Version 3 : Pro – good sound, use of different guitars
Con – don't know, really...
Version 4 : Pro – Twangy guitar!
Con - Too fast
First time of listening, 3 was my LEAST favourite - but right now, I'll vote
3, 1, 2, 4
(but I like 'em all, really!)

I also hated #1 but I bet it was a favorite in the disco clubs in the late 70's

Weak vocals overall!

Winner: 3 Second: 2 Third: 4 Outside: 1

The version I am most familiar with is not contesting! Don't find this kind of instrumentals very exciting. 3, although way too long!, most pleasant listening. 2 goes for charm and authentity. 4 clearly in favour of 1, all I can say.

Version 2 " The Eagles (instro group from UK early 60's)
Version 3 2 1961 (80's group from Sweden very Shads like)
Version 4 was The Ventures

As always based on 4 3 2 1 average result based on votes
