The J Dog Rick may be retired...

Post by jdogric12 »

Hey gang. Most of you won't give a flip about this, so feel free to mark as read and move on. :)

I got a new guitar yesterday. I think it may take the place of the famed "J Dog Rick" aka the 330/12JD. It's a 610/12 JG BT, and I tell you what, this thing plays way better than any Rick 12 I've ever had or held, except the 610/12FG I foolishly sold years ago.

I even used it last night for an ongoing recording project I had been using the JD for. I'm thinking it may be time to retire the JD. I'll post some pics and clips when I can. Sorry, just had to share.

Give it some time, man, you're still in the "honeymoon" phase!

How 'bout a pic or two?

The guitar that convinced me I needed a 12 was a 610/12 FG. Sweet player and really sang. I played it for about 45 mins without plugging it in. I regretted not buying for months afterwards. If it had been a JG, I would've had an even harder time making that decision. JG BT, I would've been walking home with a new guitar that day, finances be damned!
Congrats.
In for pics.

I bought one when I got out of college in '88, a JG model...loved it while I had it, it was a great guitar.

Oooh, dang, that's a cool-looking guitar! I love the black with black trim. It would look nice posing with my 615 BT! But don't sell your TQ 330/12 yet.... You may find that it is nice to have more than one 12-string in your Ric stable.

The new one's pretty, J Dog, but if you're able, hang on to every Rick you can!
