The Rockies are 2-0 so far against Arizona, and the next two games are at home now. For those who aren't familiar with Colorado weather, it changes fast. Fall seems to hit within a week. The game temperature is to be around 41F with a 40% chance of rain. It has been raining since yesterday and is slightly warmer than now that as I type.

I must admit that they surprised me, as they surprised most of the sports writers in the Denver area. All of the predictions were for another poor season, but that didn't happen. They did get some help though, especially from the Brewers.

If the world series comes here to Denver then we could see a snow delayed night game and then have in up to 70s the next day ...

Indeed! They just won again (in constant rain), so one more Monday night will clinch this series, and it is on to the World Series. I was at the game where they clinched the playoffs the first time in the mid-90's, and it was one of the best baseball games I'd ever been to. It has certainly been a nice ride thus far.

Look out Boston ... The Rockies are hot and they are rested ... they play well in Fenway and they have good left handed pitching ... :D

I think it'd be cool to see the Rockies win the WS...well, not if you're a Red Sox fan....

Look out Colorado... The Red Sox are hot they don't need no stinkin' rest... they play well everywhere and they have great right handed pitching.... and they hit lefties all the time. :D

I'm with you Dan, I think the long layoff is going to kill the Rockies. It's gotta be hard to stay hot after a nine-day vacation.

An eight day layoff will hurt the Rockies. They had two intrasquad games the other day but the snow conditions in Denver have not been near ideal to play baseball. Both teams are hot and have good hitting and pitching but I think Beckett's potential to win two games and a stellar performance by Schilling will make the difference for the Sox, who have been there before.

Game 1 last night was tough to watch (unless you are a Red Sox fan). I'm optimistic that the Rockies will bounce back. They had some sort of stat last night that two other teams that went to big game 1 wins ended up losing the World Series, so nothing is in the bag.
I don't recall the Rockies' fans here ever chanting at the other team's pitcher, but I bet they'll be doing it when the Red Sox come here.

I know what it is like to lose, I've been watching the Red Sox on and off (mostly off) since 1976, I think perhaps experience and the long lay off had a lot to do with last night's debacle. One thing (well a few things) I think we have over the Rockies is experience, pitching, hitting and defense, if last night's game was any indication. I think the altitude will affect the Sox though, I predict we'll win in 6.
