I think the TRC was a replacement piece but what a cool little guitar.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough on me to buy it.

Hmm, if it's a '61 460 then the TRC is original, for they were gold (with a white pickguard) on most if not all of them for that year only. Great looking guitar.

I love those early 460s. I've got a '61 that needs a total resto.

I've always wanted a 460. I prefer the FG to the MG. But it's still pretty fantastic. There's something about that big pickguard that I really like, even though it obscures part of the wood. I remember seeing a Sea Foam or Blue Boy 660 awhile back that somebody was claiming was a 460, but I can't remember any details with it.
Thanks!

That's a really nice looking guitar - thanks for posting the photo. It's interesting to see the small differences (bridge, knobs, inlays, headstock, pickguard shape) between that guitar and my recently-acquired 460 (also in mapleglo). I'm curious as well as to what price the seller was asking.

Thread-drift alert. Did Rickenbacker ever manufacture a one-off or small batch of 460/12s?

The asking price (which is visible on the red tag) was 1650 Euro.

(You guys, the picture enlarges when you click on it...)

Thanks for the price, Wouters.

Full screen, though, and I'm still seeing nothing on the tag. How many Euros for eye surgery? :)

It's barely visible on my hi-res monitor. YMDV.
