So why no separate discussion pages on Motorhead and Rush? Along with Yes and the Beatles, both have made a huge mark on Rickenbacker.

The Who as well.
Personally, i also think a CCR forum would be great. Well, not sure they've made a mark, but three of them - excluding Cosmo the drummer - did play Rics, and they've left a mark on pop/rock music as well (imho, of course).

TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS.
Crimeny, I watched that 3 hour TP&TH bio last night on TV. You'd a thought they'd been sponsored by Rick. From their '70's debut til this very day they're playing the coolest Ricks. Even one live concert with their late bassist using a Rick bass.
TP and MC using nearly every Rick body configuration there is.

Personally, I find the number of subforums on this site to be a bit much. Adding more for each detail upon the huge Rickenbacker history is an organizational mistake, and makes the site look pretty cluttered for nothing. you could easily downsize the forum quite a bit

Rickenbacker Guitars
Rickenbacker Basses
Rickenbacker Artistes (all of them)
Playing and Technique
Curmudgeon
Non-Rickenbacker guitars
Other

I think it's a cleaner look, and you don't have to look through each and every single one to see what you missed. personally, I always use the "find new post" thing at the top of the page, but I'd rather not. I'm the type to re-read things, and I don'T see them when I do the new-post thing.

Just my 2 cents.

Personally, i wouldn't agree with that, cause my favourite section doesn't fit into any of these categories. Well, it could've fitted into "Others" perhaps, but i wouldn't want to see it there. It's not just something "other than RIC instruments", it's most important part of pop music history for some members, my little self included. And where would you put "Rickenbacker general"? "Vibrola"? History sections, such as "Sweating the details"? Amps section? "For sale" and "Wanted"?
But on the other hand, maybe including Beatles, Searchers, Byrds and CS sections in "Artists" section as sub-forums is not such a bad idea, if there had been a special notification for those who are here for these sections only and alone.

Yeah! I vote a "yes" to a band forum where all bands can be discussed.

I figured this would come up, and I admit, I forgot all about Rick amps, so that can be added to the list.

In my mind, Rickenbacker General merges with Rickenbacker guitars because seriously... it's the same stuff, just in 2 different forums (within a decent margin for error)
Vibrola would go into guitars (because they talk about fixin guitars) or bass (because they talk about fixing basses)
I then of course forgot the For sale and wanted, but the history section wouldn't be terribly out of place in the guitar or bass forum, considering the relatively low post number that gets done there, I think we could manage. So,

Rickenbacker Guitars
Rickenbacker Basses
Rickenbacker Amplifiers
Vintage Ricks (still a maybe for me, seems redundant)
Rickenbacker Artistes (all of them)
Playing and Technique
Curmudgeon
Non-Rickenbacker guitars
For Sale
Wanted
Other

Maybe a "fixing/repairment/technical" section, which would include "Vibrola" and "Reflections"? They're both about that, so i don't see why "Vibrola" should be moved/removed while "Reflections" should be left as they are... Then, how about "Classics" section? It isn't Rickenbacker-related, so it wouldn't go into R. artists section, and as i said, it doesn't fit into "Others". (i said it doesn't)
Then -
"Conferences and Confluences" - ?
"Admin announcements and support" - ?
"Registry" - ?
"Iron door forum" - ?
"Liverpool project" - ?
(the two above are also non-Rickenbacker-related and therefore cannot go into "R. artists" section; anyway, why "Rickenbacker artists" and not simply "Artists" or "Music talks"?..)
Anyway, the forum already has "big sections" (Rickresource support forums, Rickenbacker Forums 2000-2007 (including basses, guitars, etc), Gear technical forums, Music history and interpretation forums, Band forums, Miscellaneous forums), within which the sub-sections (forum for a particular band, etc) are shown on the main page. I mean, perhaps there's no need to re-invent bicycle if there already is one?

I like the current setup. I don't visit all forums anyways. There are 5 or 6 that I frequent, and I am really not interested in the rest. Would it be fair to just have the ones I like? I think not.

It would be nice to shut off the sections we don't want to see.

I suppose, but I recall a friend of mine from India, who said. "Perfection is the enemy of the good!"
