Hey Paul, have to say they're both stunning and want both in that colour to complete my collection. I will probably never find them but will keep looking! Erik's a luck guy to have that 2060!

I love my Cheyenne. So did the boy so I bought him one this last summer. His first bass! See, we do have something in common.

She turned up this morning at work and is even more stunning than in the photos. After a quick play I can't believe she is over 14 years old, as she plays like new, the original setup it faultless, all I'm going to do is put some new rickenbacker strings on.

Can't wait to get my Marshall VBA and 4x12 to give both a propper test drive. I think the cheyenne's going to get the most played to be honest, it begs me to wonder how much better an 4004lk is to play an whether the neck dimensions are similar.

Ask Brian Crisman. He has an LK and used to have a Cheyenne I simultaneously.

I've been seeing the term "NOS" being tossed around a bit here lately. Just to be clear, NOS stands for New Old Stock. To be NOS it must be new and unused, and for verification purposes, in he original packaging. Mint, on the other hand, is a more subjective term that probably applies here.

I bought an NOS Glen Frey 2030 a few weeks ago in Amsterdam. Its a '92 and I'm the first owner. But its been hanging in a shop for years and has a couple nicks on it so I wouldn't call it mint!

The 4004C I've just received was definitely NOS, it was in it's original packing and was only taken out to photograph for the advert. There were no knocks, dings or scratches on it at all and had definitely never been played! When I took it to a friends music shop to have a once over to see if it needed a truss tweek, they told me that they though I'd just received it new from Rickenbacker. All I've done is change the original RIC strings for new ones (RIC).

I really can't complain, just ordered some original RIC straplocks and might order a vintage case to match my 4004L's.

The satin finish on the neck and fretboard obviously feel different to the laquered neck and fretboard on the Laredo, but both seem different to play for sure. They definitely sound different too, the Cheyenne has an amazing mid range growl which I'm hoping will just sing through the Marshall VBA 400 and 4x12 when I receive it, the Laredo is warm sounding but has more top.

My friends music shop will be getting an Orange AD200 head in a few weeks which I will try with the two orange bass cabs they already have in stock, should sound good through this too. Not sure which will sound better between the Orange and the Marshall but I'll soon find out!

Dane, I love the look of your 4004L MID with the 2000 series pickguard, would love to see a larger photo of it, that would look so good on a FG Laredo!

I've never been any good at reducing photos so they could be posted here, so I think I'll just take some and send them to Paul since he seems to be prety good at it.
