Use heat on your lumbago. Heated car seats help a lot.
Oh, you meant the guitar! Vaguely reminds me of something familiar from the back.... hmmmm...
Nice flamed top on it.
(Can you tell I know nothing about guitars?!)

Re: What do you think of this guitar?
nice looking guitar. looks sort of like a PRS.
Re: What do you think of this guitar?
It is a PRS; a McCarty model. This is Paul's homage to Ted McCarty - the man who gave us the ES-5, ES-335, ES-175, Flying V, Explorer and collaborated with Les Paul on the design of the "Les Paul" model guitar - who was a mentor to Paul Reed Smith. I've never played one of these particular models but used to own one of the very first production runs of the Custom 22s....I say "used to own" because it really didn't do much for me and was out the door in a hot minute. Paul has really improved his designs since the mid '80s and it shows on this model. He's made them more functional - as shown in the pics by the single volume and single tone controls, 3 way toggle switch, the keystone tuners and the wrap tailpiece - and he's listened to his consumer base for what they really want.jopagering1 wrote:nice looking guitar. looks sort of like a PRS.
Nice looking guitar, octagon!
Re: What do you think of this guitar?
Did someone say McCarty? I have a few of these, nice guitars. They are made here in my hometown......

I love blue, so I bought this one back in May 2007 too and have been gigging it out along with my Ricks and a vintage 50s Les Paul or two.....

If it's a genuine PRS McCarty you've done well, Mitch. They get pretty good raps over here and are pretty darned expensive..... even used ones!
Re: What do you think of this guitar?
Nice PRS, Mitch!
Elys, really nice PRS!
A good friend of mine has a very nice PRS Archtop with a beautful flame maple top he wants to find a good home for. Anybody interested?

Aitch, say the word, and I will "hook you up". After all, it is the least I can do given your generous forbearance on the 350v63 MIDs earlier this yearozover50 wrote:If it's a genuine PRS McCarty you've done well, Mitch. Nice one! Had one of the low line Santana models (SE) awhile back. Have ya cranked it yet?
Re: What do you think of this guitar?
The McCarty I and archtop II (like the blue one) models get the nicest feedback when you crank themkenposurf wrote:Nice one! Had one of the low line Santana models (SE) awhile back. Have ya cranked it yet?

Elys, I will not get to make photo of it till next week sometime, Dave is pulling 12 hour shifts at work through the weekend! The guitar has not been played much at all, he prefers his Godin Multiacs as he uses a couple of guitar synths and a Yamaha Motif ES rack unit; the PRS was an impulse buy, so it is like new. I will keep you posted.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?
I owned several PRSi, "got over it" after a while. Hated the McCarty I had (liked the Customs far better), but if you like it, then enjoy! Nice top and I love the color.
This one was my favorite, by far (Custom 22 Soapbar): Three Duncan Soapbars, five-way Strat-style switching, maple neck/fretboard w/ bird inlays, black finish.
One thing I still like about PRS is their vibrato system - great feel and never goes out of tune!
