How to make my new 4003 stereo

Post by ghs_boomer »

Since Rickenbacker no longer offers their Ric-o-Sound kit anymore, what can i use to make my 4003 Stereo?
I just ordered a new Hartke amp to go with my old Hartke amp.

Thanks

Hi Mike

You need a Y splitter cable - stereo jack on one end (goes in the ROS socket of your 4003) and mono jacks on the two 'split' ends. One into each of two amps, channels on desk etc.

Here is one:-

I've had a couple custom Y-cables made by Guitar-Cable.com and the quality is excellent. No box to fool with and you can pick the components and leg lengths that you want. This is the one for my stereo 330/12.

Ok, i got my cables today but i ordered the wrong stereo jack. I cant seem to find a 1/4 inch male to 1/4 inch female jack.
Does anybody have a source, I tried Sam Ash and Musician's Friend and they don't have them.

Mike, why do you want female jacks (sockets) at all, you want a stereo jack (male) at the bass end & two mono jacks (male) at the amp end (just like the one in the picture Todd posted).

Lighten up, Mike! You're just having one of those days. I cut off a connector I was going to reuse here at work today and 10 minutes later I couldn't remember where I laid it down. I looked and looked.... Everyone teased me it was a senior moment, but hey, I'm only 55!!

Heres a photo of my stereo set up, i am still tweeking the settings and it might take a while to get the sound i want.
Also, i cant turn the volume up past 2 on either amp or it blows me away. :D

It is 10 ft i think but i have two "Monster" cable adapters and two extra 20 ft cables so i can stretch about 30 ft if i wanted to.
