I didn't like any of the versions very much, know about one or two others that would have cleaned the field! But watch this: My list = Sheena's in Reverse!!

1: v. 4 Short and effective, clean arrangement, no extravaganza.
2: v. 2 Good voice, the original or close to it. Overdone instrumentation.
3: v. 1 Nothing much with the singer, very average performance.
4: v. 3 A brave attempt, but too different! I didn't get the idea.

So now, after two jurys finished, we're back to the start!

I'll go along with Jamie - 2, 1, 4, 3. Four is just too fast, and three is too much like elevator music.

For me it was no contest, #2 outshown the others by a mile, #4 wasn't bad either.

2, 4, 1, 3 for me too... not that I'd buy any of them! Don't really like the song that much, I'm afraid. Some interesting variations, though.

2,1,3,4 for me, Roy.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Not too many takers on this one but for those who did take part or those who may just be curious here is result

Version 1 was Glen Campbell

Version 2 " Temptations

Version 3 " Mike Pender (Ex Searchers lead Singer)

Version 4 " Cal Wayne (Ex Move and Hollies)

Temptations 3.5
Glen Campbell 2.8
Carl Wayne 2.0
Mike Pender 1.7

70% chose Temptations as favourite version
20% " Mike Pender
10% " Carl Wayne
0% " Glen Campbell though as can be seen by overall result, chosen as second favourite by quite a few.

Thanks again to those who participated

Damn. I voted for Mike Pender as my favourite. Can't believe it. That is even worse than the fact that i didn't recognize him. Still, since i once chose Smokie's version as my favourite, it's not that bad in the end.
