Well Graham, my birthday is Sunday, guess I should get you my address so i can get my gift sent to the proper home...

Seriously, congrats. I know you hunt these basses down like a detective solving a mystery. Glad that your efforts pay off.

Hey Shaun, Happy Birthday to us, light a rocket for me. My new wife (#3 on 6/28/07) is from Lancashire, she was born in Liverpool and grew up in Skelmersdale. She's 14 years younger than me and keeps me on my toes(she was born in 73 just like my 4001's). It was funny when she finally got her visa and came over and saw how many basses I've acquired over the last 4 years. Of course I got the question we all get "why do you need so many basses". Well after a little education session on vintage rick collection values I think I got her on the same page.

Shaun, that is the one thing I've accomplished from all made plans when I was a wee youngster - that I would never act my age!!
You know John, I remember as a kid imagining what I'd be like in the year 2000, and thinking I'd be all grown up......I'm still waiting, and it's nearly 2008...

Well my girlfriend was born in '72 so you've got me beat there Mark! And both Liverpool and Skelmersdale are, as you no doubt know, not too far from my neck of the woods. With regards to Ric collecting, I think your girlfriend needs to have a little conversation with mine; when I say how much mine are now worth she just says "so when are you selling them then?" .

BTW, I'll happily light a rocket for you, assuming we're allowed to these days. Not sure you'll be able to see it from where you are though!

..sigh..

I am still wondering what I will be when I grow up, too. I hope it is something exciting and cool.

I turn only 52 next week, so I am still young yet, with my whole half-life ahead of me...

I hear ya! I remember back in 1961 (9 years old) I was thinking about year numbers, as 1961 turned upside down is 1961, and I thought about the year 2000 and how far off that was and that I'd be 50 years old in 2002 and how I would be an old man. Well, that was 5 years ago!
