Okay for those who seem to like this, not as many as I hoped, but this may tempt you

Thanks, Roy. Hard to split #2 and #3 for me but I'll go with 3,2,1 with 4 a very, very distant last.

Interesting one, this. I found it hard to decide between 3 and 4 - but with 2 definitely coming in first (no surprise, I think :) ) and 1 coming last. And the final order:
2, 4, 3, 1.
(2 is the only one I'm fairly sure who the artist(s) is/are)

Sorry forumites but I simply cannot put vers. 4 anywhere but No1, I apologise but they have always been my heroes and were resposible for me picking up a guitar in the first place a long time ago now! So 4, 2, 1, 3 for me.

Mine would be the same as Howard's - 3, 2, 1, 4. At the beginning, i thought #2 - the version i know almost by heart - would no doubt be a winner, until i've heard #3 - love that "thick" sound. I hope it isn't Smokie or Mike Pender this time. But had there been Mud's version among these, i'd most definitely have voted for it as my personal number one.

This isn't fair Roy, haha!

#1 Never heard it before but it's great, I knew it was the original the second it came on though.
#2 The version I'm most familiar with.
#4 I remember this band a little bit  .
#3 no idea but also good.

I think this is another song that's good no matter who plays it.

Einar Judge:

1. v.2 Simply the best! Masterful guitar break and Lennonesque vocals. (But then, I know this from old).
2. v.1 Scores on charm and simlicity. Makes you smile, a good thing.
3. v.4 A backbeat version, a little different.
4. v.3 Leans too much on v.2 but more power and a little less finesse. Not bad, though. (Hope then, and believe this is newer than v. 2!).

All good versions in the frame of 100-109 seconds!

Roy, is this from your traditional, physical record collection?? How many songs do you own four or more different versions of?
I'm not sure I could find any, except Beatles cover versions.

I just posted two posts, and they both came on as my no. 238! How come? I'll face a hard time reaching the next level with this kind of progress! :?

Now if you look, Einar, you'll see number 239 next to all the three of them. Now it isn't the post number that's shown, but number of messages posted. Now threads like "This is my 1000th post!" don't really make much sense, cause once you post your 1001st message, a nice round number won't be shown next to your previous "milestone" post.
EDIT: And BTW, what's the "next level" if you're already a Veteran member? This status won't change to anything — well, unless you become a consultant.

Hi Roy! It's been awhile. I like #2 the best. Would guess that it was the final single version. Much better with the backing vocal.

Um, yes, but i'll never become a veteran. Maybe a "Rick-a-holic" one day, not sure of that (it takes too many posts to reach that status), but never a veteran cause to become a veteran, i have to have had registered before 2003. :)
