I've never heard of these guys.

I just saw this video on youtube. It's a video of an "Indo-Rock" band from the Netherlands called "The Tielman Brothers". This is from a live TV performance in 1960. Pretty cool.

Wow, that really was very cool! Ahead of their time in some respects. :)

That was an amazing live performance.

You know what's amazing? How did they imitate all the 21st century psycho-billy bands

WOW, great stuff. The next time I take a ride in my wayback time machine to 1960 Germany I'll be sure to check these guys out.

"The Tielman Brothers" were originally from Indonesia:

But there was a big Dutch connection.... " they were offered an extensive tour throughout Indonesia, but only on condition that they should change their Dutch nationality into Indonesian. In the opinion of Herman Tielman his children would have a better future in the Netherlands and in 1957 the family repatriated to Holland by boat. "

Boy, that's a great story! Could be the making of a potentially really good movie too. I wonder how much of their popularity had been impaired by simply being asian.

Did you mean that his children would have a better future if they turned their Indonesian nationality into Dutch?

Not me ... Papa Tielman thought that his children would have a better future if they turned their Indonesian nationality into Dutch.
