I knew a couple of people who had the Harmony Bass. I hope the reissues come with a truss rod!

My bass teacher, Denny Croy played a Harmony bass at my first lesson two weeks ago! He has the matching guitar!

Yup, Harmony made some of the biggest POS's ever, almost as good as Stellas

If they reissue the H-22 bass (think Spencer Davis Group & Small Faces) I'd take one! It's in the color brochure.

That's the model that two of my friends had, and still have. Flatwounds only for that bass, due to lack of a truss rod. Interesting that Harmony has a reissue. I suppose Silvertone is next, even though there's already a Danelectro RI line.

That's in the works, Mitch. There is a luthier in northern California that makes a version of the "Howlin Wolf" bass. He has contracted with the folks that bought Kay to reissue more pieces. When I remember his name & company I will post it.

No truss rod makes it an early example, maybe 1962.Mine has a rod, and the reish picture shows one too.
Judging from the picture, it looks as if their aim is to make authentic items.

Thanks for the 411 Don. I didn't know that!

Mitch, it would be cool to see Kay reissues, but I don't think I want to see any Kent reissues!

Mitch, Paul and all others that are interested, the luthier I was speaking about is Roger Fritz of Fritz Brothers. He builds a far better bass than the Kay original, though keeping the specs in mind. PLUS, you can order specifics you like ie; neck size, pickups etc. In fact, when you go to his homepage you will see the bass he built for Randy Jackson (American Idol). Roger let me play that before it was picked up by Randy at NAMM 2006. Here's his site: http://www.fritzbrothersguitars.com/ Enjoy! For information on the reissues he is making for the old Kay Co., call him. He is available and a very nice guy!

I have a late '60's Harmony Rocket that came out of a closet at my grandparents' house. It's a fun guitar to have. The pickups sound awesome on it and the vintage vibe is pretty cool. Not bad vintage gear for the money either. Here's a picture of it...sorry, it's the best that I have at the moment. It's in between the two JG Rics. http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q147 ...
