OK, OK, OK...I'm back!!!
Hi all.
I've had a **** year & a lot's happened over the last few months. Nothing nasty, but a lot of things have been getting on top of me...you know, little things that mount up. My reaction was to withdraw, but of course, that doesn't actualy help! I wont bore you with the nitty grittys, as I'm sure that I'm not the only person in the world to have made a bottom of himself, but I am now sorting all these little issues that have plagued me for 12 months or so.
On the positive side, my new band...The Great British Blues Band, has excelled my expectations & I have never enjoyed my music as much as I do now. I am playing better, writing better & having a great time recording the new album. It's no secret that with the move to blues (although I had a blues band for many years, so it should be 'return' to blues), has rekindled my love affair for the Telecaster (I played Tele's exclusively for a 17 year period!), but the bass is my 4003FG & always will be!
I have some thoughts on Rickenbacker & the blues, which I will post on the Blues topic.
Meanwhile, I would like to thank all of you for your patience (with regard to the froum CD) & to those of you that have contacted me off forum. Your friendship is appreciated more than you know.

Glad to hear that you're on top of things and the band is going well........ rock on! Or should that be 'blues on'?

Hiya, Tony!
So did you hold on to any of your Rick guitars? Surely there was that one 340 with the vibrato that you liked so much.

Re: OK, OK, OK...I'm back!!!
Thanks all.
John, it is my regret that my lovely 340FG has gone....why did I do it???? I don't know, just part of the craziness that has gone on in the last year. It is something that I will regret for a very long time. BUT...it is an opportunity to start experimenting with a new vigour to answer some burning Ric questions with regard to what's happening to my music now. I feel like a mad scientist, determined to gleen all I can from the next round of experiments!

Not everyone, i think, and i must be among the exceptions. When i try hard to write a blues song, i end up with another punk rock "anthem".a little bit of blues in you, everyone has
