Strange? Maybe. But to me, it seems quite logical. If you post a certain number of messages, you get promoted to next level. And if you've been around for many years, you get promoted to a special status — longevity counts. And of course, Veteran status doesn't mean you have to retire; quite the opposite.

Einar in answer to your query and I had not counted before but answer is 190 songs with 4 versions or more cumulated from collection of CD's, Records and MP3's.

I have a significant number with three versions or more.

So more than enough to keep BOTV going if there was interest.

Song with most versions I have is Needles and Pins 14 versions.

For me, it's 4, 3, 2, 1 (blast off!)

I think some of those who put version 4 last will be surprised when they see who it is.

Well, at least i am 99,9 % sure it's not the Ramones or Dire Straits, nor is it Searchers or Ventures (i think), so whoever it is, i won't be too much regretting my choice. :P

You're right about the first part, not so sure about the second, haha!

Roy, can't believe all the music you posess! But the future of BOTV should be bright! After most of your 4-versions stock is used, keep it going with 3 options! And, as for Needles, you cold try with quarter finals first! :D

Thanks Einar hope to keep it going but truth is nt many participate, that's not a gripe as we say just a statement of fact, perhaps it depends on the song or the fact that people are bored having to listen to 4 versions of same song.

Sometimes those different versions are not really different - not in a way, say, this version of "Farmer John" is different from a certain version by a certain band from Liverpool you may have heard about. It's really tough to decide when all the versions sound much similar...

It's modelled after Neil Young's version! The drummer does his best to sound like Neil, and the ahahahah vocals are also very identical. Quite liked it!
