New amp for my Ricks

Post by jps »

I bought this last week to compliment my basses.

Markbass Minimark, 20 lbs., 2-6" Neo drivers and piezo tweeter, 150 watts rms into internal speakers, 250 watts rms with 8 Ohm ext. cabinet.

This thing ROCKS!!! :D

also, did you perchance check out the micromark? essentially half the size/power of the mini. i thought i might like to have one for noodling around the house and/or acoustic practice.

My local GC had just taken it out of the box the afternoon I walked in there looking to check out a GK Backline 110 or 112. The price was $830 plus tax, well worth it for sure. This thing can keep up with drums so folk music/coffeehouse gigs should be a breeze. It can handle my Zon five string just fine. I plugged my EV B110 cabinet into it and it rocked the house! :) GC did not have the Micromark but I am sure it would be fine for house noodling with no problem, but the Mini is so small and lightweight I don't see the point of the Micro, really.

Very cool, Jeffrey. I've been tempted to pick up a Markbass amp also.

I am playing the Zon right now along to some Midnight Oil I want a different band I am working with to do. The low B comes through nicely on the Minimark.

Markbass Rocks! One of these days I'm going to get another Epi 12 and utilize the whole 500 watts. Amazing how loud it gets with just one 12.

Nice! I need something like that to replace my Ampeg B100R. Lugging that thing around is unpleasant.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the MM compared to the Ampeg. Do it! (er, courtesy of Jared  )

It may be true, those who are unable to play well compensate with size & volume.

Cool amp Jeff. I picked up a Markbass LMII head a few weeks ago to replace the super heavy preamp/power amp combo I was using. Sounds great, especially through a Transonic cab.

Cool, I like the modern/vintage vibe, like I do with my LM II and '60s Traynor cabinets. :)
