What artist or song do you really like, or have been infulenced by, but don't generally like to admit to your hard core biker friends.

ABBA! :D

I used to like Air Supply way back when I was a lovestruck teenager....but now just the thought of some of those awful sappy songs makes me want to throw up.... :P

The Bee Gees..... not the disco garbage but the earlier and more recent offerings. 'Alone' is one my favourites.

Thanks for all the replies! OK here's mine, Dan Fogelberg. A lot of his early stuff rocked. This guy could do it all. Hope he can regain his health.

I'm not ashamed of anything in my CD collection.

Nothing to be ashamed about ABBA, they are simply the best pop band since the Beatles, with their brilliant arrangements and production. Their greatest hits is always on my rotation.

Dancing Queen is the song of the 70's.

Kate Bush. Tori Amos. Initially, I was gobsmacked by each woman's vision and ability to elucidate it--truly a gift!

This was in 1987 and 1991, respectively.

After a few weeks in tight rotation on the CD rig, however, the hysteria began to get to me. I would get irritable for no reason...worry about my wardrobe choices...buy bubble bath in gallon quantities...try to embrace the Universe...I began to cry when it rained, then when it was merely cloudy, then if the sun rose or set...I developed a taste for quiche and sunflower seed bread...I bought stock in Birkenstock and Urban Outfitters.

But it was my first issue of Cosmo that really scared me. I reformed before I was tempted to re-form. I put those CDs into the cabinet, WAY in back. Things began to change, virtually immediately.

Now I smoke cigars again and Juliana calls me "Daddy".

Phew. Close one.

But I do remember meeting at least one very sensual woman per artist, who shared my "tastes" in music.
