BFTP22

Post by royclough »

Okay here's this week's clip.

This act (as usual could be duo, solo, group) defiantly fell into the category of one hit wonders of the 60's.

However it was number 1 in US and top three here in UK.

This song was a big hit for Crispian St Peters in UK and minor hit for him in US but was covered by We Five or could have been other way round, they had a top 3 hit in US.

So who is this.

The best version of the song i've heard so far (imho, of course). The hardest part is to find out which 60s act it is — somehow it does remind me of an act, but it's not from the 60s, not even from the 70s, it's from the 80s...

Howard and Sheena quick off the mark, must be a generation gap thing Sheena but IMHO probably worst version of this song I have heard.

Not so sure it's so much about generation gap, it's rather personal music style preferences. Anyway, my guess is 100 % wrong so i won't be even sending it, i guess it'll take me a few days to think who it may have been...

Hi Roy :D

Mines in ............I'm pretty sure I've got it.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

I've payed my share! I thought this was the most famous version of the song, but I was obviously wrong! I like it better than the act's more prominent song!

My vote is in, Roy.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Knew this one immediately: 1960s, that voice... Maybe a one-hit wonder, but one of a kind as far as voice goes. Mine's in Roy.

Yeah this voice is kind of unforgettable, I don't know if that's good or bad. The version was sung kind of like a bull in a china shop.
