The Green Rickenbacker 4001!

Post by cboehmig »

I picked this bass up last week. A refin, but it's a '77 Rickenbacker 4001. Whoever did the refin did a spectacular job...

Hi Charles, and welcome! Thanks for posting that photo - she's a beauty! I particularly like the nice figuring in the maple that clearly shows through on the upper front body - that is some gorgeous wood :D

Glad to see it is in good hands. Put a white pickguard on it and it will look even better! Then put on some yellow stripes and a big "G" and you'll be very popular in Wisconsin. :D

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking about popping a white PG on there. Will a modern 4003 PG fit without drilling or will I have to send my guard somewhere for someone to make a tracing?

The TRC is white (well, aged white). Not sure about eBay - picked this one up from the TalkBass.com classifieds.

Great maple on that 4001! I like the green and vote for white pickguard also. A 4003 guard would need some new holes, so for an exact fit contact Tony at Pickguardian. http://www.pickguardian.com

Beautiful bass. This color looks great on a 4001. It would probably look great on any Rick.

It has my vote for COY!

Yeah, me too. (You may even leave out the color part.)
