The book "Before He Was Fab"
The book "Before He Was Fab"
I just recieved my copy today. it's only 100 pages or so but some good info. It appears that when George sat in with The Four Vests, he played one of the guys' '61 - '63 360 FG. Also, when he went back to England,he was being interviewed by Dusty Springfield, he said that he had just bought the 425, and he now owned four guitars. Neat.

He just played it one night with The Four Vests.
To me that would be cool enough and make it worth tracking down. The guitar wouldn't be worth a fortune, but it does have it's place in Beatle history. If you read the book you'll probably feel the same about this guitar. I'm going to track down the guy from The Four Vests, but I'm pretty sure he won't know where the guitar went. I think he would have bought it back by now if he knew where it was.

Larry, It would be worth finding out about the guitar. Surely he remembers who he sold it to. I wonder if it looked like the one on the cover of that old Guitar Player where George showed all his guitars off? You dont think its that one do you? I wish we knew the year and model and ser#. I know a guy in my town that I just bought an 80 burgundy 320 from that has a 58-62 330 Rick. It has the different body, squatty, not like a later 60's 330s. With an orangey, fireglo/gold pickguards, tv knobs. He wants to sell it. I'm not into those model guitars or I would grab it. He just knows it is worth 2000 or something. I can get his number if anyone is interested. I'm not trying to say it's the guitar in the book, but you never know? I guess I need to get the book to get the story. Is it worth getting?
I'm jaded about Beatles books, I have so many now that I have read every little thing. FATRAT

If you have the ISBN number anyone that works in the book business can get this .This is located on the cover near the bar code or on the title page.
Name and author are not generally used to locate books ,just the ISBN number .
My sister runs a library and I learned of this years ago.
