I've been eyeballing it as well, BUT.....what hasn't been mentioned here is the part about the CRACKS in the bass!

"There is an insignificant hairline crack in the wood on the body between
the bridge and the back pickup that is not structural in nature, but only cosmetic (as barely can be seen in the close-up of the front). "

They APPEAR to be STRESS CRACKS from the rear pickup (look carefully at the pictures) and it travels UNDER the bridge out to the bottom of the bass by the strap peg.

THEN, there is ANOTHER crack from the bridge pickup FORWARD and it LOOKS like it ALMOST makes it to the end of the bass under the upper bout.

Anyone here with a better trained eye than mine, PLEASE report in.

I'm planning on writing the seller and ask for better pictures. Those "cracks" worry me a bit.

Glad I bought my white '73 when prices were more reasonable.

If Jeff is removing the horseshoe from the July then that means he's probably thinking about selling the bass to me since he has another 73 with checkered binding and.....who really needs more than one 73 anyway?.......:)
