vintage years ?
I just purchased my first Ric. Its a 360-12, 1980. I'm still in the stage where all I can do is look at it in awe!
I'm a 20yr acoustic player (martin6 /gibson12)and this is also my 1st electric. What makes it "vintage" other than its a 1980. What changed in 85? Thanx in advance.
Re: vintage years ?
Hi Jack, welcome to the Forum.
Actually, these time frames were picked by us in order to establish some sort of 'line' to look and forward and back, one of the reasons being that everything prior to 1984 was the period that John Hall's father F.C. Hall ran the company.
In reality the instruments made after 1984 and later will also become tomorrow's "vintage" Rickenbackers, just as all new things will become old with time.
