Huh? How come I don't have one of those "decorder rings"rikk wrote:Ebay has a new Security Key thing that makes it impossible to hijack an account. You type in your username and password, then it takes you to a screen to enter your 6 digit code. You get this 6 digit code from a little device you keep on your key chain. You press the button and it displays a code. The code changes every 30 seconds. Ebay somehow knows what code YOUR device should display at the time of login.

The ebay frauds are getting near perfect now!
I'm sticking around to find out more about this so-called security key.

Works with Paypal, Ebay, and Verisign supported sites.

A-Ha..thanks all for the binding info...there is still a 'ridge' there for the binding to go on,as it were,(rabbet?)..Does that indicate one thing over another...and whether to leave it like that? Thanks again..Phil.

I'm not sure what you mean, Phil...sorry. It indicates the the bass had binding and the binding was stripped off. New binding could be put on, but the markers should be pulled out and re-installed, which is a bit tricky.
Re: Proceed w/ caution on this 4005 listing
I got mine from Paypal, but ebay (and other sites) will be able to use them. I cost $5. Here is the link:

Thanks Paul..Wints suggested that it may never have had binding..in which case, preumably , it wouldn't have had the rabbet...am I understanding this corractly..So really it should have binding..?Phil.

Re: Proceed w/ caution on this 4005 listing
If it's got the rabbet, it had binding. Black position dots would also indicate binding was originally in place; an unbound neck usually has white dots on the side for visibility.
Re: Proceed w/ caution on this 4005 listing
That's that then...obvious to some!..Where can I get appropriate binding in UK?
