1 — version #4 (anybody thought i'd vote otherwise? ).
2 — version #3 (the first version of the song i've ever heard, and a cool one, imho).
3 — version #2 (never liked the act — if i identified it correctly, — and too "sweet", imho).
4 — version #1 (didn't like this one at all).
So, long story short, 4, 3, 2, 1, exactly in reverse order.

Difficult splitting the first two, and then the second two... However, my order is:
2
1 (the first version I remember hearing)
4 (liked the lead singer, hated the backup vocal sound)
3

My pick:

1. the only one I've ever heard before, always liked it.
4. don't know it but also think this is a very good version, good lead vocals and beat,
2. Always liked this band.
3. is a travesty everytime she opens her mouth

1, Sounds better than the male group versions.
4, my daughter is a big fan of this one.
2, not heard this version before.
3, the worst by a long way.

Very likeable song, not easy to decide!

1. No 4: Gains from the fact I know it. But a very nice and charming performance, standing on its own feet.
2. No 1: Probably the elder version.
3. No 3: Can't deny she has a powerful voice, a little too slick and a little too long.
4. No 2: But still a strong contender! Grew a little tired of the Oh yeas, and it borrows a lot from v. 1. But a superb sound!

Not much interest on this one but thanks to those who did vote

Version 1 was Betty Everett
Version 2 was Swinging Blue Jeans
Version 3 was Cher
Version 4 was Searchers

Result was

1 Searchers
2 Betty Everett
3 SBJ's
4 Cher

37.5% actually chose either Searchers or Betty Everett was their Favourite
25% went for SBJ's
No one went for Cher yet her's is probably the best known version.

That's what makes the Searchers' version a winner? They made a little twist to what was generally the style at the time!! :D
