Family emergency?

Post by brianeharmonjr »

Either it is an extremely inconvenient coincidence or people just can't come up with a better excuse. The last 4 things I've purchased through ebay or various forums have been delayed shipment because of "family emergencies". Each person, after not returning my emails, has come back after an annoyingly long time and said that they had such an emergency and were out of town. Is this a common excuse that everyone gets, or am I just being paranoid? Luckily I've received each item after waiting up to a month (in one case), but I wish people would just be honest. Anyone else have similar problems?

My 80 watt Traynor was delayed over a week due to an unexpected "death" in the family.. I will be getting it tomorrow. I paid for it on the 20th!

It happens all the time. The problem is you can't leave bad feedback 'cause then you'll get the retaliatory negative (ask me how I know).

Things do happen though.....I was just about to close a deal on this Forum a year or so ago for a very nice 4004Ci at a great price when one of my dogs broke his leg in a squirrel mishap so I had to bail. I'm sure that "excuse" sounded lame but I was up front about it and the seller seemed to understand.
