Forumite in commercial
Was watching a recorded special on Genesis from VH-1 Classic, and several times there was a commercial for Belvedere Vodka. Scene is a party with people dressed up looking posh, etc. Central character is a man with dark hair and beard in black leather mixing about. He draws a clown face on a painting on the wall, woman says something like "Vincent, it's marvelous," fire sprinklers go off, everybody seeks shelter, Vincent ducks under a piano with comely redhead.
Well, that's our own Vince Gallo, collector of '60s Rick basses. He was also the central character in an episode of "Dirt" back in spring. He played an enraged ex child star looking for recognition. He takes the editorial offices hostage, eventually shooting one staffer. Courtney Cox gave him a plug a night or two before the airing on Leno.
Now if he could just respond to me about photos for the book . . . .

ha - just saw that commercial last night.
his 're-figuration' of the painting is similar to the work inside the packaging of his album "When" (very beautifully packaged CD).

No, I don't think "Dirt" is on any longer. I was talking about his performance on it when it aired last spring.

Re: Forumite in commercial
Saw that commercial this evening. Always have to mute it when it comes on...
But the commercial itself is cool, although it took like 6 viewings to realize what it was for...

There is a quick cutaway to a guitar/bass in the commercial. Surprisingly, it wasn't a Rickenbacker. Then again, the sprinklers were going off.......
