Self-Tuning Guitar

Post by myfretless »

So Gibson is now introducing a self-tuning guitar.

Apparently it will cost an additional $900 to have the guitar do what those of us with ears and fingers take an additional 60 seconds to do.

What if you accidently hit the self-tuning function while playing live during your solo?

From what I saw, you have to pull the control out to tune it. I know what you mean, though ;) The company that makes them does have them available separately, I believe. So maybe you can autotune your Rick.

I just got my 660/12 out of a closet where it had been stored while I worked on various music projects that did not require the Rick 12 string sound. It must have been in there for at least three months, temperature controlled, but unused for awhile. When I opened the case and took it out, it was still perfectly in tune!!! Is there a self-tuning option on the 660s that I didn't know about? (this particular 660/12 was made in 2002)...

If you're style of play is so flailingly wild that you hit the bridge tone knob hard enough and in a way that it pops out..., you need to worry about different things than being in tune.

I will pay some extra bucks if Rickenbacker comes out with a self-stringing 12 string model :)
