New Rick 360-6

Post by milosch »

Received tonight:
Image

Looks great, hard to photograph. The action seems a bit high, but I think I can fix that. There seem to be some serious fumes coming off this thing, more than any of the other 3 new guitars I've received this year.

I'm looking forward to really working with it tomorrow!

Congrats, Miles. Altho I've had a 360-12 since 1980, I got my first 360-6 last year, and now I don't know what I was waiting for! It's an incredibly versatile guitar.

Stupid question tho, probably my monitor's fault -- but is it a JetGlo or MidBlue? It looks JG except in some places where the light hits it just so, and then there's a bluish tinge.

Ok, good to know about the smell ;) Yes, it is a JG - probably would have been better to photograph out of the case.

For the most part it looks fine, but I think it may have been UPSed at some point in its travels. The intonation on the high E string (small one) was way off, and I was able to wiggle the bridge to correct it. I'll have more time to investigate it with the magnifier today.

Howdy,

Enjoy bonding with your new 360, Miles. JG is the classic Rick color, IMHO. With JG, your guitar has just a little extra of that Rickenbacker mystique; it's spirit of Liverpool, if you will. 8)

Hey, I'm with ya. Just got my NEW 2007, small headstock 360 in Jet Glo yesterday. Man that guitar is sweet. And since it's black, it looks exactly like yours.

I'm putting a Celestion Blue in my Blackface Deluxe Reverb and see if it has a rewarding effect on the tone of the Rick.

What are running your New 360 through?

I got mine Friday, but when I opened the case, it was a 330JG instead of a 360JG. Someone at Ric mis-labeled the shipping box, or, they are hiring some of these young kids in shipping, who don't know the damn difference !

She's a beaut! So, Milosch, tomorrow marks your third week of ownership. Now that you've had an opportunity to road test it for a spell, what are your impressions of its sonic, tonal, and resonant qualities? Playability? Cosmetics? Just curious. Regards....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
