Two days ago I proposed to my girlfriend in the last 7.3 years.
She said yes :)

7 years plus is a long apprecticeship and the good thing about that is you know each other very, very well.

Jeffrey: Yes, we both don't like the whole marriage thingy, but in order for me to be able to work in the states - we have to get married (Kareene is a US citizen).

Congrats and good luck with the immigration process, I just got married in June to my girl friend of six years who is from Liverpool. She just got her two year green card in Oct. and it only took about ninety days but I've heard of instances in which it took six months to two years. Read everything you can and get as much knowledge about the process as you can since it's complicated and can be stressful. A good forum to learn about the process is visajourney.com where lots of people going through the various stages can shed some light on some of the problems you can run into. I didn't start reading that forum until she got over here and I really learned a lot, it was a great help.
