Curt Mangan strings for my 330-12. Opinions?

Post by drumbob »

I have disussed the issues I've had in keeping my 330-12 in tune, so on the advice of Chris at Pick 'O The Ricks, I bought two sets of Curt Mangan 10-42 nickel strings for the guitar. I haven't had them put 'em on yet, but wanted to see what you guys thought of them. Opinions?

I have a set on a 620/6 and a 4003 and like them. Feel and tone are good. I haven't had them on long enough to have an opinion on longevity. TI's on my 12 though.

I've not tried them on my electric guitars (still using Ernie Ball products predominantly [and occasionally some pure nickel Gibsons]). But I have used them on my Gibson superjumbo and Tacoma Chief. Great tone was immediate and apparent and they didn't seem to need as much stretching as most brands. Their supposed legendary strength was not so apparent as I broke two during a practise... Might be my mighty right hand (never underestimate the hamfistedness of this 10 stone brute).

I'm curious about their performance on your electric.
