Re: Everyone...I NEED SOME GUIDANCE....
The Ric has a few more nicks and scratches but still is in great shape! The black plastic pickup selector cover broke off, was cracked when I got it back and then fell apart shortly after-can I get an exact replacement? I'm not sure where the knobs are but i'll find them around the house soon enough and get them back on. Of course, the pawnshop aspect of the story isn't over yet but John got his money back and I got my Ric (the other two were returned Jan. of this year. Pretty amazing to get all my basses back! Thanks again to John for being the great person that he is and thanks to all for the support. I've been pondering what to do to thank John for this-money is really tight right now but I'm sure i'll think of something and will continue to keep in touch.

Good to see that it is back home Abbott.

Abbott, I'd probably think about letting the media know about your story even if there is an arrest. If I were a reporter and had read this thread, I probably be a fool not to write a human interest story.sinisterick wrote:Well, here I am and loving getting my bass back.... I will do my best to not let the police drop this case. If there is no arrest, I will be calling the various media as I'm confident that they would be interested in a story about how the police will not enforce the laws on a pawn shop that knowingly sells stolen goods. They know this is a story of concern to everyone in their audience as businesses that operate this way are a major contributor to home break-ins.

Great pictures, Abbott. One thing I noticed though is that even though the writing it the pics is correct and readable, the basses are all backwards!

I noticed that also, how strange!

FYI, the backwards case has always been a bit of an issue as it tilts badly when carried. Guess they didn't consider the backwards issue when the handle was mounted!

Hey, I was just thinking maybe I should mount that Ampeg logo on the opposite side!

All right now, it seems none of you realize that serial #1 was a lefty:
