Agreed-now I'm hoping that justice is in vogue. I suppose i'll keep sharing as the police investigate (if anyone is interested). I've been prepped by the police, at this point, for the possibility that the D.A will not be willing to prosecute anyone at the pawn shop or the person that broke in to my home and stole my stuff. I know that all the police can do is investigate and present evidence. I told the officer from the pawnshop investigation unit that I understand this and I'm not here to "shoot the messenger" but if no arrests are made, I will be persuing my other options and to expect the media to pick up on this. I'll let you all know if I'm going to be on T.V!

Thanks for the address, Gil.

It would be great if more folks from RickResource responded and made some comments at digg.com about John's wonderful deed. Again, the address is below and it only too me five minutes to register and respond.

Stories like this one make this whole venture worthwhile and underscores the importance of networking in getting the word out. If you have a blog or site and are willing to put a link to RickResource.com this would be much appreciated. Every little bit of networking helps. There are more lost Rickenbackers out there as we well know. Having those owners find us may result in other happy endings. :)

New member chiming in today. I've known Abbott since high school and remember when he bought his Ric new back in '80. When it was stolen last year this motivated me to video and document all household items and instruments. When he got it back recently (thanks to this forum) I was motivated once again and registered my 4003 Blueburst. There was some controversy on the old PRS forum when a member made an announcement that he had been lifting everyone's jpeg's, created a database and then asked for the serial numbers he was missing to match them up with the profiles, etc.
I did not participate in that fiasco but at least on this forum, and with Abbott’s positive experience I can honestly say that our instruments are registered in a safe haven…I still can’t believe he got it back after a year, what great luck :D
